COWORKING WHISTLER
Whistler's only Shared Office Space
HOUSE RULES
We’ve compiled a list of house rules to ensure all our members have have the best possible experience.
Please let us know if you need more information.
KEEP YOUR VOLUME DOWN
If you have a phone call or meeting please try to keep your volume low, so everyone can focus on their tasks. If you need a bit more privacy, you may wish to take your call in the kitchen and close
the office doors. This is a coworking space, so members need to be mindful of others working. It is recommended to bring in noise-cancelling headphones for any quiet moments you may need.
BE FRIENDLY
Whilst you don’t want to distract someone who’s busy working away at their desk, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make small talk with other coworking members – ask someone about their day or weekend plans. You may find that you have more in common than just the office space you share.
BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS
While hot desks are assumed to be shared, dedicated desks are off limits, so don’t peruse a book, borrow a pen, or go through documents that don’t belong to you. If you see someone wearing headphones or immersed in their work, don’t distract them for no reason. Both on a physical and emotional level, you should be mindful of other people’s space.
RESPECT PRIVACY
Don’t peer over another member’s shoulders to see what they are working on or intentionally eavesdrop on a short phone call or conversation.

STAY AT HOME IF YOU’RE SICK
There are two main reasons to stay home from an open office if you are sick. You want to avoid spreading germs, and you want to minimize distractions. No matter how hard you try, some sniffling, sneezing, and coughing will distract others.
KEEP IT CLEAN
A coworking office puts your desk in the line of sight of everyone else, which also means that mess on a desk can easily spill over into someone else’s work area. Keep your work area tidy with your items only on your own desk and don’t borrow items from others without permission.
REPORT ANY ISSUES
People will disagree on what behaviour qualifies as distracting. If someone else does something you find disrespectful or distracting, talk to them calmly and politely. If you do not feel comfortable doing so yourself, ask the manager of the space to do so. Do not leave the issue to fester. The person distracting you may not even be aware of a problem.
PERSONAL ITEMS
Whilst we have a small storage area for coats and skis in the winter, we sadly don’t have the space for larger items such as bikes and paddle boards. Keep your personal items to a minimum and if you’re heading up the mountain on your lunch break, make sure to clean your boots before re-entering the building – there’s a mat by the front entrance.
